Technical Director of Eletronuclear

An electrical engineer by training, Ricardo Luis Pereira dos Santos holds a PhD in Energy Planning from Coppe/UFRJ, a Master’s in Business Administration from Florida International University, a postgraduate degree in Public Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and an Executive MBA from Coppead/UFRJ. With 36 years of experience in the Brazilian nuclear industry, he started his career at ELETROBRAS ELETRONUCLEAR in 1980 in Angra 1, having assumed technical and managerial positions also in Angra 2 and 3. He participated in the commissioning and in the first years of the commercial operation of Angra 1, was responsible for the start-up of Angra 2, as the plant's Operations manager, and later, he was superintendent of the Angra 3 Operation and has been serving as Technical Director since February/2019. Internationally, he served as a specialist in missions for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the World Association of Nuclear Operators (Wano). He also participated as a speaker in workshops and seminars in several countries.
