Head of the MME's Strategic Management Special Advisory

Graduated from the Escola Naval in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor in Naval Sciences, Vice Admiral Ney Zanella has held public management positions for 35 years. He also holds a degree in Political Science and Naval Strategy with a doctorate in Maritime Policy and Strategy from the Escola de Guerra Naval. He has Major Studies in Politics and Strategy from the Escola Superior de Guerra (PhD - 2006) and Corporate Governance (Fundação Dom Cabral). He served on submarines for 11 years and commanded two ships, the River Patrol Ship “Roraima” and the Submarine Rescue Ship “Felinto Perry”. He commanded the Group of Hydroceanographic Ships, was Naval Attaché in Argentina at the Embassy of Brazil, in Buenos Aires; Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Navy and Deputy Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defense. Before holding the current position at MME, he was President of Amazônia Azul Tecnologias de Defesa SA – AMAZUL, from 2013 to 2019.
