GIOVANI VITÓRIA MACHADO

DIRECTOR OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AT EPE He is an economist from UFF with a master's and doctorate in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ. Key areas of expertise include energy modeling and demand forecasting; planning, policy and regulation of the energy sector; energy transition. He worked in several energy institutions: Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory – LBNL; National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels; COPPE/UFRJ Energy Planning Program; MBA in Energy Business at FGV, as professor and coordinator. In the nuclear area, he collaborated with the International Atomic Energy Agency – IAEA, as an ad hoc international expert in sustainable energy development and energy modeling. At the Energy Research Company, he worked in different managerial roles in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Directorate. He is currently Director of Economic-Energy and Environmental Studies at EPE. He is the author of several publications in the field of energy and reviewer of international technical journals.
