GIAN MARIA AGOSTINO ANGELO SORDI
Director of Atomo Raioproteção and Technical-Scientific Advisor at IPEN
He holds a bachelor's and a degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo, with a specialization in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. Doctor in Sciences (Physics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; Postgraduate Professor at the University of São Paulo, since 1976; Advisor in Master's and Doctoral courses – USP, having supervised numerous master's dissertations and doctoral theses; Director at the consulting company ATOMO Radioproteção e Segurança Nuclear, since 1996. Participates in the Brazilian Society of Radiological Protection (SBPR) and Society for Health Physics. He is a member of the editorial board of the periodicals Radioproteção (São João da Talha- Portugal) and Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento. Has experience in Nuclear Engineering, with emphasis on instrumentation for measurement and control of radiation, in the following subjects: ionizing radiation, radioprotection, optimization, radiological protection and safety. He is a consultant for the Ministries of Health, Labor and Agriculture in the area of occupational and environmental radiation protection. He participated in the elaboration of multiple norms of the National Commission of Nuclear Energy. Currently, he also performs the role of Technical-Scientific Advisor for Radiological Protection at the Nuclear Safety Board of IPEN.
