ANDRÉ LUIZ RODRIGUES OSÓRIO
Director of the Department of Energy Information and Studies (DIE) of the Department of Development and Energy Planning (SPE) of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME)
With a degree in Economics and a specialization in Economic and Financial Management and Engineering from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), he has been a member of the Energy Research Company (EPE) since 2006, where he served in the Economic, Energy and Environmental Studies Directorate, performing activities related to long-term energy supply studies. At Eletronuclear's Planning Superintendence, from 1998 to 2006, he carried out, as an economist, activities with an emphasis on technological development, the performance of the plants in operation, the construction of new units and projects of advanced reactors and new uses of nuclear energy. As Director of the MME, he is responsible for developing long-term structuring actions for the implementation of sectoral policies. The governing body functions as the management center for programs and projects in its area of competence and ensures sectoral integration within the ministry. The board also outlines the guidelines and coordinates the elaboration and implementation of Brazilian energy planning instruments, such as the Ten Year Energy Expansion Plan, the National Energy Plan and the National Energy Matrix. He also works on the MME team for energy issues of the G20G and BRICS. He has been National Coordinator of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) since 2019. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Industries of Brazil (INB) since June 2021.
