ALEXANDRE RAMOS
DIRECTOR OF USP Alexandre Ferreira Ramos is Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), where he coordinates the AMPhyBio Lab (Laboratory of Applied Mathematics and Biological Physics). He was Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago (2018-2019), where he conducted research and taught the course "The Brazil-Argentina Nuclear Cooperation Agreement and the Hydroelectric to Thermoelectric Transition in Brazil" for non-specialists. He graduated in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos; Master's and Doctorate in Basic Physics from the Physics Institute of São Carlos, University of São Paulo; and postdoctoral fellow in Biological Physics at Stony Brook University (2009). He is the author of more than twenty scientific articles published in international indexed journals on randomness and symmetries in biological processes, tumorigenesis and cancer treatment, supercomputer architecture and laser-plasma interaction. It maintains collaboration with scientific leaders from Brazil, USA, China, Portugal, France, England and Hungary.
