Vice-President from ABEN

Senior Technologist at the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) working in the area of Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety, Alexandre Gromann is Vice-President of the Brazilian Association of Nuclear Energy (ABEN). He was Vice President of CNEN and Director of Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety (DRS/CNEN). As Director, he coordinated the licensing and inspection processes in all areas of activity of CNEN, such as Power Reactors, Research and Test Reactors, Shipyard and Brazilian Submarine Nuclear Naval Base, Medical and Industrial Facilities and Fuel Cycle Facilities. He was also General Coordinator of Reactors and Fuel Cycle Installations; Deputy Director of DRS/CNEN; Reactor Coordinator (CODRE/CGRC); and

Coordinator of the Security Assessment Service (SEASE/CODRE). Since 1985, he has been working in the area of Risk Assessment, Safety Analysis and Reliability Engineering of Complex Systems and Nuclear Installations, developing activities related to the Licensing of Nuclear Installations and their Operators, chairing or composing Standards Committees in the area of nuclear safety. It also has experience in the elaboration of strategic plans, more precisely in the formulation and development of national security policies through the application of the so-called Political Action Planning methodology.
